Lara is a Romanian designer currently living and working in New York City.


She received her Master in Architecture with Advanced Placement from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where she was a Dean’s Merit Scholar and a KPF Travelling Fellow. She holds a professional Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from University of Cambridge, where she was awarded the Know-Shaw Waynflete Worth Award, the Paul Micklethwaite Scholarship and was a RIBA President’s Medal Nominee. 

She has worked with international studios in New York, Berlin and London on various projects, from cultural and residential to commercial and hospitality, as well as independently on built interventions and exhibitions. Most recently, she worked on the adaptive re-use of a 500m funicular structure in Romania, in collaboration with Oana Stanescu, and a temporary outdoor installation at Art Omi, New York, with Jon Lott, PARA Project. 

Her current interests revolve around material ecology, cultural rituals or symbols and performative spaces. She just likes old rocks, uncanny objects and dimly lit spaces.
